Lara Croft of Tomb Raider Commission 02

My second run at Ms. Croft. (On a side note, I can not wait for the new Tomb Raider game! Looks amazing! They seem to be taking a lot from what Naughty Dog has been doing with the Uncharted series, which makes perfect sense, but I'm interested to see if it's all implemented as seamlessly as it is in Uncharted-- which now stands as my favorite video game series.)

Anyway, back to Lara... Again, I drew her in one of her more recent costumes and not the original blue top. Maybe I'll have to get around to actually doing that version of her, but it's super intimidating once the best all time "sexy lady" artist out there (Adam Hughes) has already drawn her in every imaginable awesome way.

Usually with these commissions, I don't plan out a back ground. I just let something come to me while I'm actually working on the color stage of the illustration (unless someone asks for a specific background). For this one, I thought a map would be just the right fit. I ended up inking it in sepia tones so it wouldn't' compete too much with the image of Lara herself.

All in all, I think I like this image of Lara better than my first.
